THE Times UK has bought a video series set in a famous London restaurant, The River Cafe, to run on its website.

“Cook Italian With The River Cafe” is a series that comprises 40 x 3-minute episodes, set to be released over a 10-week season The show takes a behind-the-scenes look at the restaurant, following chefs as they buy ingredients.

The series also includes separate video recipes and tips on food and wines with links to buy each product.

There are also plans to release an iPhone app related to the series. The Guardian reported that News International ordered the series after erecting the pay-wall and will try to boost online subscribers with the exclusive video content.
