SANSKRIT readers are set to have a daily newspaper all of their own, as an enthusiast of the ancient language Prafulbhai Purohit, will start publishing a newspaper in a bid to spread the usage of Sanskrit across India and the rest of the world.
"There was dearth of contemporary reading materials and documents. So we thought to come up with such a newspaper which would help the students and readers to get more familiar with the language," said Mr Purohit.
The four-page newspaper will have translated articles and features taken from different current media sources.
Members taking yearly subscription will be given free Sanskrit dictionary.
Elsewhere in India, the Musalman newspaper still publishes its Urdu language, four-page newspaper. All pages of the paper are handwritten in calligraphy, before being reproduced on a printing press, making it possibly the only handwritten paper in the world.
